Sarah Beeny admits marriage is hanging on by fingernails after cancer battle

Sarah Beeny says she took her frustrations out on her husband during her emotional battle with cancer and it has left their marriage hanging by "fingernails"

After falling in love many moons ago, the property expert tied the knot with her soul mate, Graham Swift, and the pair shared a happy 20-year marriage. But after her diagnosis, their relationship started to spiral.

With their house fuelled with negativity due to the constant arguments, the pair, who previously shared a blissful life, confess that they're only together for the sake of their four teenage boys.

Showcasing her admirable fighting heart, upon receiving the dreaded diagnosis, Sarah, decided to tackle the cancer head-on. And through intense chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, the 51-year-old came out victorious.

Alas, despite receiving the all-clear, six months ago, the toll the whole ordeal took on her marriage is still ongoing, and unfortunately, it appears neither she nor her husband are close to resolving their relationship quarrels.

As per The Sun, she candidly admitted that her other half has struggled to live with her because she has been “Horrible” to him over “The last couple of years." She said: "We’re hanging on in there by our fingernails. I mean, it’s not easy, is it?

Sarah added: "Graham always said, ‘The day we have to work at our marriage, I’m going to leave’. And I was like, ‘really?’ But I think he has had to work at it, to be honest.”

During an appearance on Gabby Logan's podcast, 'The Midpoint', she claimed that the only reason they stayed together was for their teenage sons, Billy, 19, Charlie, 17, Rafferty, 15, and Laurie, 13.

With the hope that they could make things work, Graham begged her to be 'Nicer to him', knowing that it would make both their lives a lot easier.

Sarah asserted: “I was being particularly horrible, because I have been a bit horrible in the last couple of years, to be honest at times.”

“I was being particularly horrible, he said, ‘You know the thing is, Sarah, you’re not prepared to leave and have your children half the time, and neither am I, so we’re going to stay together."

As of right now, both she and Graham are trying their utmost to make their relationship work. And with Sarah officially cleared of Cancer, hopefully, their marriage has a fighting chance.
